Olympic Games Handover - Sunday, August 24
On Sunday, August 24, the mayor of Beijing (Guo Jinlong) will hand over the Olympic Flag to the mayor of London (Boris Johnson) as part of the Official Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games 2008.
In the Olympic Stadium (the Bird’s Nest) in Beijing, London 2012 will have an eight minute performance to present itself.
The show is created and staged by LOCOG’s Ceremonies team and will reflect London through dance and music. This unique performance will see a collaboration of dancers from the Royal Opera House, CandoCo and Zoo Nation.
